promotions and what they really mean

How funny is it that everyone and their mother want to make more money; but most will shy away from responsibility.  If you go up to most people and ask if they get paid fairly they will tell you no they don't and when you ask them what they do its something hard or time consuming.  offer a promotion from someones current post and they will jump on it. I mean a dollar more and better hrs who in their right mind would say no, but in all honesty I don't see that as a even trade off.  People always think a promotion is amazing but all it seems to be more responsibility less freedom and a bit more alienation for a bit more money.  Lets assume you and a buddy start at the same time and you both are good workers and one day your boss tells u if you'd like to be a assistant supervisor; your buddy will treat you differently won't he due to your new found position.  but alas i digress we will always try to make more money than concern ourselves with the loss of friends or social lives.  we may always be around each person but we lose ourselves to a  job :"(
